East Norwalk Train Station

Project Update

East Norwalk Train Station Temporarily Closed

Weekend Of September 13 - 14.

The East Norwalk train station will be closed to all commuters from early morning on Saturday, September 13, to early morning Monday, September 15, 2025.

No trains will serve East Norwalk station after the last train at 2:54 AM on Saturday, September 13, until the first train at 5:17 AM on Monday, September 15. Full regular train service remains available at the South Norwalk station at 29 Monroe Street, 1.5 miles west, and at the Westport station at 1 Railroad Place in Westport, 2.2 miles east.

CTDOT is providing an alternative parking lot at 180 East Avenue for those who want to park in East Norwalk. The train station is closed and not accessible, so you cannot park at 180 East Avenue and then access the East Norwalk Train Station.

To provide an alternative parking during the closures, permit holders may take advantage of accessing the South Norwalk Train Station overflow lot on the New Haven - bound side or Westport station at no additional cost. For questions about parking, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Norwalk Parking Authority office at 11 North Water Street or at 203-831-9063.

The East Norwalk Train Station will be updated as part of the CTDOT’s Track Improvement Mobility Enhancement (TIME) 2 initiative - a sub-component of the WALK Bridge Replacement project.

The East Norwalk Train Station is currently undergoing improvements to the station, platforms, and parking areas. Once completed, the station will feature two new platforms that can accommodate six train cars, new platform canopies, and enhanced parking and access options, including a dedicated drop-off lane. The improvements to the East Norwalk Train Station are expected to be completed by 2027.
