Track and catenary work on the New Haven Line between Washington Street Railroad Bridge and the Strawberry Hill Avenue Railroad Bridge
- Friday, October 4 - Saturday, October 5, from 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM.
- Monday, October 7 - Friday, October 11, from 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM.
- No impacts to local roads, rail service or pedestrian traffic
are anticipated. - Noise and lighting will be monitored.
Construction activities northeast, northwest and southwest and southeast of the WALK Bridge on the Norwalk River
- Saturday, October 5, from 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM.
- Monday, October 7 - Friday, October 11, from 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:00 AM.
- No impacts to marine traffic are anticipated.
- Noise and lighting will be monitored.
Marine Activity
Temporary Channel Closure on the Norwalk River
- Friday, October 4 - Sunday, October 13 (24 hours).
- Intermittent eastern and western channel closures on the Norwalk River
- One channel remains open to marine users.
- Marine users are advised to follow navigation signs and marine police directions. For marine police, please call VH 13.
- Schedule is subject to change.
Other Activity
Utility work on East Avenue between Olmstead Place and Winfield Street
- Friday, October 4, from 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
- Monday, October 7 - Friday, October 11, from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM and 8:00 PM - 6:30 AM.
- Alternating one-way traffic will be maintained on East Avenue.
- Noise and lighting will be monitored.
Construction activities southwest of the WALK Bridge near North Water Street
- Monday, October 7 - Friday, October 11, from 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
- No impacts to local roads, sidewalks or marine traffic are anticipated.

Construction activities between Fort Point Street and Moore Place
- Monday, October 7 - from 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
- Tuesday, October 8 - Friday, October 11, from 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM.
- Alternating traffic patterns between Fort Pont Street, Moore Place and South Smith Street.
- Noise will be monitored.
Osborne Avenue closed under the Railroad Bridge between Rowan Street and Fort Point Street
- Osborne Avenue under the Railroad Bridge is closed between Rowan Street and Fort Point Street thru March 2025.
- Northbound traffic will be detoured west along Van Zant Street to Fort Point Street, and southbound traffic will be detoured west on Fort Point Street and Van Zant Street to points south of the bridge.
- Pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained for most of the closure except when construction equipment is required on Osborne Avenue for certain activities.
- Motorists are advised to follow posted detour signs and routes.
- All local property and business access are maintained.
Eversource’s Norwalk Bridge Transmission Relocation Project will continue at the following locations:
Washington Street (Rt. 136) near the entrance of Veteran’s Memorial Park:
- Construction activities for Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) beneath the Norwalk River will occur between October and mid-December.
- Monday, October 7 – Friday, October 11, from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Two-way traffic will be maintained on Washington Street, travel lanes will be reduced near the work area.
- Local property and business access will be maintained.
- Rt. 136 entrance to Veteran’s Memorial Park will be closed. The Seaview Ave entrance will remain open.
Seaview Ave along the perimeter of Veteran's Memorial Park:
- Construction activities to support the Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD), including staging of equipment and material, will occur along the perimeter of Veteran’s Memorial Park along Seaview Ave.
- Monday, October 7 – Friday, October 11, from 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
- Two-way traffic will be maintained. At times, intermittent traffic controls and sidewalk detours will be implemented as needed.
